Pocket Tunes Radio – iPhone App
Once in a while I find something for my iPhone that really gets some use. Today, while looking for a Sirius/XM app to stream my subscription, I found someone recommend this Pocket Tunes app in the reviews section. The recommendation was to try this app because the Sirius/XM one didn’t stream Howard Stern (seriously?).
So this app streams internet radio stations, and a lot of them (including the Sirius/XM Internet feed, which Does include Howard Stern, but I have not actually tried it yet). In enjoying finding new stations; many of which are more niche than the sattelite radio in my truck. I found one of my favorite stations (WPRB), but I’m still exploring.
The app cost me $4.99. I tested it through my Sony Dream Machine iPhone dock/radio, and it’s currently flooding good quality Internet radio into my house. My iPhone is wi-fi enabled at the moment. I would expect some droppage if you were using this app with headphones on the Edge network (but that’s AT&T for you).
So for me, a guy who thought sattelite radio was too limited, this is a great find. Makes my iPhone that much more glorious.
